As the Story is Told: Some of the Teachers of S.S. 1 Howard

As the Story is told: A history of Morpeth and communityEvery week, I share an excerpt from my Great Aunt’s book, As the Story is Told: A History of Morpeth and Community, which was printed in 1986. This week is a list of teachers recorded for S. S. 1 Howard. It’s interesting to read the interesting names – I was thinking, growing up with a name like Duck may have been better than Quackenbush.

The 1926 teacher, Helen Ford, was my grandmother – Monica Colby (Duck)’s teacher. We’ll see a picture of her in a couple of weeks when I get to her class picture in 1927.
