1924 postcard from Muskoka

This 1924 postcard was sent to my Great grandmother from her nephew, Tom Kimmerly – a cousin to my grandfather, Donald Duck. The families were very close, and often visited and wrote to each other. I grew up in Ontario too, and we visited the Muskoka region. The place I went to summer camp, near Haliburton, was not far from the Muskoka region. With endless rocks, trees and little lakes, it’s truly a great Ontario summer vacation area.

I took a quick look at the area’s tourism website today – tourism marketing has come quite a ways over the past 90 years! But the landscape on this postcard is that familiar rocky shore and evergreen forest where I vacationed 20 years ago.
