As the Story is Told: The Duck Home

This week’s portion of “As the Story is Told” is just a photo. A photo of the house I knew and visited often as a child, where my grandparents lived next door. There is no further information beyond the caption, “The former home of William Duck, now owned by Donald Duck.”

William Duck home, Morpeth Ontario

Of course I recognize the house, but it looks very different here than it did when I knew it. I remember Grandma Duck walking me through the house and trying to explain the former layout to me. Where you see the small porch in this picture was where my grandparents had an ensuite bathroom, etc. My grandparents, who would have been 95 this year, have both passed away now, and the home is no longer in good condition.

I am not sure who is pictured in the photo, but I could see that it was a dog on the grass beside her.

See a previous post I wrote about this home here.
