I wonder what the story was behind this outfit? I believe this is my great aunt in her mid-20s, dressed as a 19th century gentleman. Maybe it was for a school or community play?
Hillcrest Cottage is a house I spent a lot of time visiting in the 1980s when I was a child. It is where my great aunt lived alone for many years after her mother’s death in the 1970s, where she was born and raised since 1916. Where my great grandparents took up residence in 1909…
I love this postcard that my grandparents sent to my great grandparents while on their Niagara Falls honeymoon in January, 1942. Isn’t this cute? My grandma’s nickname, which it sounds like everyone called her, was Bunny.
Today’s old photo features my grandparents, Donald and Monica Duck, who got married on January 28, 1942. Their honeymoon took place in Niagara Falls. I was very close with my grandparents, because we lived next door to them on our farm. It’s fun to see them looking so young here.
